Just as last year, each dancer is only permitted to miss 4 classes throughout the year in order to march in the parade.  If there is a conflict with another activity, we kindly ask you to choose the activity that your child be involved in.

  * Everyone will remain in the same class that they were in this past dancing year.  Please come to the first class on the same night and during the same time.

  * We will not be accepting new dancers this year, so please pass the word on to anyone who may ask you.  (With the arrival of Adrienne's baby at Christmas, it would be too much to commit to new students this year.)

  * Payment has increased to $5 per class this year and we will still have monthly payments.  Even if you have children in different classes and nights, we ask that you send in each payment for the month with each individual child.  It was too confusing last year to separate the payment between nights, especially since the teachers are different on each night.
  * Make sure you have exact change: Change will not be provided. *

October payment:  $15 per dancer (place payment in envelope with dancer's name)

Please continue to check the website for updates and news.

We want to encourage you to please check that weekly once classes begin.

Kindly inform us if your child will not be returning to dancing this season.

Email back to let us know that you have read the information.  Also, please confirm that your current email address is correct.

We look forward to another wonderful dancing season!  Thank you for helping us make it a smooth and organized transition back to class.

  Many Blessings,
  Sally, Claire, Adrienne and Caitlin

Class Attendance

Although we are not a competitive dancing group, attendance is critical. This year we are emphasizing the importance of attendance at every class. If your child misses more than 4 practices, than he/she WILL NOT be permitted to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade or the dancing shows. We will be taking attendance during warm-ups to keep track.

Class Attire

The dancers must wear clothing that will be easy to move in. These items include: stretch pants (short or long), short sleeve shirts and hair pulled away from the face. NO jeans are permitted!! Please always wear socks and remember your water bottle. Your child is responsible to bring a water bottle with his or her name on it.

Shoes

Below are two websites that sell Irish dance shoes.  Also listed are our recommendations for shoes appropriate for dancers in this class.  Size charts can be found on the websites and should be used to determine the proper fit for each dancer.  Please do not order shoes larger than necessary in anticipation of growth, as this inhibits proper dance technique and can be unsafe for the dancer.  If you find shoes elsewhere, please check with a teacher before purchasing them to make sure they are suitable.  Dancers in the Wednesday 6pm class should have soft shoes and dancers in the Wednesday 7:15pm class should have both soft and hard shoes.

Let us know if you have any questions!!
